Child Exploitation Awareness Day 2021 Child Exploitation (CE) Awareness Day is on 18 March 2022 and partners across the West Midlands are joining forces to raise awareness. CE is when a child or young person is groomed, coerced or forced to do something they don’t want to for someone else’s gain. Warning signs include a change in behaviour, having new friends, persistently going missing, secretive relationships, truancy from school, unexplained injuries, constant calls on a mobile phone and the possession of money or new things. Know how to spot the warning signs.

StreetSafe A new online reporting tool called StreetSafe gives people the chance to report anonymously if they have been in an area where they haven’t felt safe and why. All reports using the tool are looked at by local partners including the police and Dudley Council to help make the streets safer for everyone. StreetSafe is not a crime reporting tool, make sure crime’s are reported at www.west-midlands.police.uk or in an emergency dial 999.

Scam calls - Banking Scammers will pretend to be your bank to try and trick you. They sometimes pretend to be the banks fraud team investigating a problem or even the police. They may say your money is at risk or they are investigating fraudulent activity at your local branch! The caller may know details about your bank account, but don’t be fooled by this! Remember! Do not engage with callers who say they are your bank. Never share any of your bank details. If you want to check that everything is ok with your bank account you should visit your local branch or contact them using a reliable number. Banks do not ask for banking details over the phone. Banks will not tell you to transfer your money into another account to keep it safe!
