Inspiration for a staycation in the Severn Valley
Spring is on its way at last and we have a brand new website to help you plan a day out or better still, a staycation in the beautiful Severn Valley. From Shrewsbury in Shropshire follow the beautiful River Severn southward through Worcestershire and discover somewhere new to see, visit, walk, cycle, fish, paddle, or float!
The Severn Valley offers a rich blend of outdoor adventures, industrial heritage and cultural richness, great places to stay eat and drink, plus top world class attractions. For inspiration, see our new website below.
Next time you visit Bewdley, Stourport or Kidderminster town centre, download our free Wyre Forest Heritage trail app on your smartphone and take a walk into the past!
The app will take you to GPS location checkpoints around the three towns. You will hear stories and see the lives of local characters who will appear in-situ on your device thanks to the latest augmented reality technology.
Have you joined our movement for a cleaner, greener Wyre Forest? Our Adopt a Street team of volunteers is working with us to litter pick streets across the district.
We will be taking part in the Great British Spring Clean, which runs from Friday 15 March until Sunday 31 March. The theme is ‘the environment belongs to everyone – protect it from #litterthatlastsalifetime.’ Litter picking is a simple action that anyone can do. It makes an immediate and visible difference to the environment where we live, work and play. Our rangers are running three litter picks on our reserves during the Spring Clean. Join in or find out how you can Adopt a Street or pledge to pick on our website.
Whether you're looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, or you want something more adventurous, our nature reserves have something for everyone.
Our reserves are full of beautiful wildlife, and you might even see our herd of cows, part of the grazing animals project!
All the nature reserves are free to visit and all car parking, when available, is free.
We're always looking for volunteers to get involved with our reserves. Our volunteers recently learnt traditional hedge laying, which you can see at Burlish Top! Find out more about volunteering below.
Churches Together have organised an eggciting Easter Hunt Trail in Brinton Park! Come along on Saturday 30 March from 10.30am - 12pm for this free fun family event for children aged up to 11 years old.
There will also be crazy golf, face painting, circus skills and more to get involved with! No booking needed, find out more below.
Bewdley Museum is now fully open for the 2024 season.
Easter craft activities
During the school Easter holidays we will be running children's craft activities. The drop in sessions are from 10.30am - 2.30pm, Mondays - Fridays between 25 March and 5 April. £6 per activity.
Pull up your leg warmers and unscramble your Rubik’s cubes! Like Bill and Ted in their phone booth or Marty McFly in his DeLorean, Bewdley Museum is ready to take you on a most excellent adventure to revisit the greatest decade in the history of history – the Eighties! The 'I Grew Up 80s' exhibition is running from Saturday 23 March to Sunday 9 June in the Wyre Forest Gallery.
Join us on Good Friday, 28 March for an informal service in Jubilee Gardens. The service will begin at 2pm and will be delivered by Bewdley Churches Together. No booking needed.
