Illuminate: Let there be Light
Exhibition until Saturday 27 April, 10 am to 5 pm
Hereford Cathedral Library & Archives invite you to find light in the
dark days of winter with their latest exhibition, Illuminate. The starting
point is the Latin root of illuminate: to bring to light. A 12th century
glossed book of Psalms shows the beauty of illuminated manuscripts. The
exhibition also looks at different forms of light within the history of the
cathedral, ranging from the metaphysical image of divine light to the literal
lighting such as gasoliers and candles.
Normal admission charges apply.

Reading of St Mark’s Gospel by Clifford Offer
Tuesday
30 April, 7pm
The
Gospel is a good story, but is it good news? Usually we only hear the story in
bits but like any story, if you are to discern its inner message and uncover
its hidden truths, you need to hear it in its entirety. It is only when you
hear the whole gospel that it becomes good news. What message has St Mark for
you and for us? Come and hear what St Mark has to say.
This
event is free and will take place in the Lady Chapel
