ROCK AND BLUES STARS SET FOR HENRY’S ON BROAD STREET - AND IT’S FREE ADMISSION!

Look out Broad Street!

Leading musicians from top UK bands are set to hit town with their own personal take on those rocking and rolling Goodtime Blues.

Musicians who featured with Dr. Feelgood, The Specials, General Public, Badfinger, The Beat and Desmond Dekker, united by their love of and the need to play The Blues, have come together as The Dirt Road Band, and on Tuesday 19th March will take to the stage at Henry’s Blueshouse at The O Bar on Broad Street – Brum’s Entertainment Avenue.

Singer and Guitarist Steve Walwyn is best known for his 32 years in Dr. Feelgood where he featured until 2021. Steve has also been in Eddie & The Hot Rods, Steve Marriott Band and The D.T.s.

Horace Panter, also known as Sir Horace Gentleman, formed The Specials with Jerry Dammers, featuring on bass guitar until the band’s break up in 1981, going on to play in General Public with Dave Wakeling and Ranking Roger from The Beat, until The Specials reformed in the 1990s.

In-demand drummer Ted Duggan featured with Badfinger, The Selector, Desmond Dekker and The Beat as well as recording with Elton John and The Drifters.

Some might feel that such as star-studded combo as The Dirt Road Band should be in the spotlight just across the street from Henry’s Blueshouse, at Symphony Hall, but these guys know real well that The Blues Belong at Henry’s, where a capacity crowd know, love and really do understand the blues, the root of all popular music for some 125 years – that is the magic of The Blues.

Admission is, remarkably, free.

Doors are at 7pm, showtime 8pm – Be There or Be Square!

Henry's Blueshouse runs every Tuesday at The O Bar on Broad Street. Doors 7pm, showtime at 8pm. Free admission.
