Overview
Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) refers to acts of violence and/or abuse that disproportionately affects women and girls and is recognised as a function of gender inequality.
We know that there is a higher occurrence of male perpetrators of violence against women and girls, however these acts can be committed by individuals of any gender, and men and boys are affected by these issues too.
It is important to acknowledge that these acts can be perpetrated by anyone, not just partners in a domestic relationship, but also family members, friends/acquaintances and strangers.
Birmingham City Council & Birmingham Community Safety Partnership are working to reduce and prevent the occurrences of violence and abuse against women and girls, strengthen the support available for victims and survivors and improve responses to reports of violence and abuse.
We welcome you to take the time to complete this survey on addressing violence and abuse against women and girls, we will listen to everyone’s comments and action them.
