Curated by Jaivant Patel Company, Virāsat merges two projects that amplify British South Asian representation in oral histories rooted in Wolverhampton and the Black Country.
Nritya Black Country reveals the untold story of the development of Indian Dance in the Black Country between 1960 and 2000 while Pravās Black Country exposes stories of Gujarati migration shared by first and second-generation families between 1950 and 1990.
Jaivant Patel Company (JPCo) is an award-winning South Asian Arts organisation rooted in Wolverhampton, led by Artistic Director Jaivant Patel.
